S4C: Calon Cenedl / The Heart of the Nation

S4C (Sianel Pedwar Cymru / Channel Four Wales) is the televsion channel for Welsh language programmes. The channel, which has been running since 1982, provides over 17 hours of Welsh language programmes every day of the week. The television service includes children's programmes (Cyw and Stwnsh) and a variety of programmes for adults that include entertainment, music, sport, drama, factual programmes and news and current affairs.  

You can watch S4C in Wales on Freeview 4, Freesat 104, Sky 104 and Virgin Media 167. In England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, S4C is available on Freesat 120 and Sky 134. You can also watch live online and use the 35 day catch up online service through Clic (s4c.co.uk/clic).  

S4C also runs a bilingual website, which includes a Welsh learners' website (provided by Acen), a comprehensive English language subtitling service, a Welsh language subtitling service (provided by Acen), and also audio description and signing services. A choice of subtitles is also provided online on Clic.
