The Challenge
What was the challenge?
To learn Welsh in a week in order to perform an extended task or series of short tasks within a health and care or leisure and tourism environment.
Who has taken the challenge?
Welsh Learners who were either total beginners or have some knowledge of the language.
How did they prepare for the challenge?
They had a personal tutor, Nia Parry, for formal lessons and were given informal opportunities to practise the language acquired. For more about Nia, go to The Tutor.
Were they fluent at the end of the week?
No! The intention was to equip them with the basic words and patterns required to perform their particular challenge. It was then up to them to further develop their language skills according to their needs and circumstances.
